Brief
Design the visual identity for a Mexican snack shop called Mina Angie’s Sweets that sells sweet and spicy snacks.
The designs will live temporarily in a shop but will primarily be displayed in pop-ups and grow to be a food truck.
Constraints: The interior walls have to remain red and green.

Sweet To Spicy
Angie started this business selling cakes and sweets for parties and pop ups. However, she started introducing spicy snacks but stuck with the same logo! She told me she was opening up a popup shop and I convinced her to let me re-brand her whole look. Yes! Thank you! Lol (she’s my Aunt)

Creative Direction
The interior of the shop had red and green walls… so I went with it! I couldn’t change the colors so I complimented them and went all Mexican with this design. Inspired by the bold menu I leaned into the Mexican street food style. The goal was to be recognizable and eye-catching.

Logo & Visual Identity
Her menu consisted of fun spicy Mexican snacks like elotes, takilokos and mangoniadas but it also had sweet treats like flan and mini pancakes. She was also still interested in selling cakes on the side so I wanted her logo to display both spicy and sweet. That is where a “fire” covered strawberry came to life. I found an artisanal looking font for her heading and a condensed font for the body. I also used the roughened line work and fire consistently throughout her designs.
